Glock 23 Vs 19 - Shorter than the often popular Glock 19, the top caliber Glock 23 still has a lot to offer for a more discreet shot. While it may not be as easy to handle as the 19, the Glock 23 uses .40 caliber pistol bullets, which provide more stopping power.
The increased power is the main reason police departments across the country prefer the G23 over the G19, but the weapon's advantages aren't just for those in uniform.
Glock 23 Vs 19
Chambered in .40 caliber ammo, the Glock 23 offers the mid-range ease of use of the Glock 19 and the stopping power of a larger caliber.

While it looks like a Glock 19 when you first hold it, the Glock 23 disassembles itself as soon as you pull the trigger. Using a .40-inch adds a full millimeter of diameter to each bullet, and the effect on recoil is immediately noticeable.
Despite the increased feel, which I will discuss in more depth later, the gun remains as good as any other Glock I have used.
The Glock 23 comes with a three piece plastic case (one in front, two in back). This is a no nonsense gun, the stock ones do the job well, but I would definitely recommend getting some aftermarket ones, especially if you plan to be able to use the gun in small situations.
Glock has a reputation for making guns you can trust with your life and the Glock 23 is no exception. This gun will shoot virtually anything you put through it without complaint.

As a weapon, it has zero performance whatsoever. It seems to fit every other Glock I've owned and used over the years, so I'm not at all surprised.
One thing I am concerned about is how a larger caliber can wear on a gun compared to the 9mm of the Glock 19. However, time will come, and so far Glock pistols have stood the test of time.
As mentioned above, the Glock 23 is physically identical to the Glock 19, with the same dimensions and free weight.
Like the Glock 19, then, the G23 is big enough to work well with a decent 4-inch barrel. The sights are easy to line up, and the flat, no-nonsense pistol grip makes it easy to grab and hold.

The Glock 23 has a safety system, which requires a full purchase to lower the trigger. It does not include a manual safety, which is in its design as a self-defense weapon.
While I'm in favor of anything in armor that reduces the risk of accidental discharge, I appreciate the simple-yet-effective design of the trigger safety.
If you've ever been in a situation where you're forced to defend yourself, you don't have time to check the safety manually, and the Glock 23 is designed with trigger safety in mind. At the end of the day, the best protection is awareness and discipline.
The reason for designing the Glock 23 was to create a pistol that was as reliable and usable as the Glock 19, but chambered in a larger caliber, the .40. Thus, the 23 magazine holds fewer rounds (13) than the Glock 19 (15 rounds).
Glock 23 Gen 4
A feature of the Glock 23 is the interchangeable magazine release, which you can move in whichever direction is most convenient for you. Although it is not as easy as the obvious output, this feature is still very good for the southern outskirts.
The Glock 23 is similar in size and shape to the Glock 19. It measures 7.36" x 5.04" x 1.26", with Glock's "signature" box.
Free weight is 21.16 ounces, about the same as the G19, while the heavier magazine makes the G23 a bit heavier in comparison.
The Glock 23 is smaller and lighter than the Glock 22, and uses the same .40 caliber round in the main chamber and magazine. This makes it more desirable for concealed carry, while maintaining the accuracy and stopping power of the entire pistol.
Glock Vs Sig Sauer: Which Is Better?
The recoil on the Glock 23 is what really separates it from the Glock 19, for me.
23 has a more prominent mouth as the blade moves back and forth. This made it difficult for me to line up after shooting, and it took some getting used to.
I guess there are some downsides to metal mesh over polymer mesh, and this is one of them. The muzzle really hurt my hand all day, and that was something that surprised me when I used a gun like the Glock 19.
Nevertheless, the stopping power of the 40 caliber was added during the defensive period.

In terms of price, the Glock 23 is definitely a step up from the Glock 19, both in terms of gun and ammunition.
With an MSRP of $600, the Glock 23 is still quite affordable. Caliber am40., however, will cost you at least twice as much as buying a 9mm. Also, no other bullet is as cheap and versatile as the 9mm, so it's not a good comparison.
The Glock 19 is popular for a reason: cheap, easy to use, and widely available, Glock has become a household name.
But in actual combat, 9mm ammo left something to be desired, which is why the .40 S&W was invented by American officials.

Compared to the 19, the Glock 23 is expensive and difficult to use. But these limitations come with an increased need for stopping power, making this pistol a great choice as a service pistol.
As a private owner, you'll find that the Glock 23 serves as an ideal choice for a no-nonsense pistol for home defense or everyday carry. The Glock's reliability and ease of use with large-caliber ammunition make it an ideal self-defense tool.
